If healthy, he has shown ability that arguably places him in the 2nd tier.

There is a lot of risk in your rotation (Penny, Unit, Hughes, Francis, Moyer, Young), but the upside is off the charts. I'm also of the opinion that starters can be found later, so I like the gambles.

I like you gambles at closer. Smart picks with great upside... mostly. Bautista is admittedly a head scratcher for me. But saves can always be found later, so I liked the overall strategy there.

Love your catchers and your infield (I seem to get Blake and Cabrera every year myself).

Your OF to me is a slight concern, only because I just don't see it with Matthews (although I do like Rivera for this year, so that was a nice handcuff pick). Willingham doesn't do it for me in your lineup. I just don't think he offers enough (especially given the Matthews pick). Ichiro, Dunn and Jones I like a lot.

I don't know how I would have fit a different OF pick into your draft. I like the flow of your picks and the timing, so I'm really just nit-picking. If it was me I'd probably have hoped a guy like Burrell slipped due to questions about where he was going to play, or gone with an upside pick (youth/change of scenery) like Crisp (should start in KC right?), Maybin, Fowler, etc... Willingham is definitely safer, but to me you're already playing the high risk reward game with enough picks that I'd probably continue to roll with that.

All that said, I thought you let the draft come to you very nicely and I'll be interested to see how the team fares throughout the season.

drapes
